Snow Finally!

We had our first heavy snow today (which is unusual being that it's already the middle of January) so the kids had a fun time playing in our big backyard. It didn't last very long though as little fingers started removing their gloves to touch the snow which then slowly turned to hand freeze, plus the "falling and getting back up" syndrome added more wet and cold to their moods after the first 20 minutes outside. It took about half an hour just to get them all dressed up in their winter suits, gloves, scarves, hats, boots, etc. and before you knew it, we were back inside getting them all out of their heavy winter gear. But I can't compare sunny, warm days to the cold, snowy ones when taking little kids outside as they have more to tread, more body gear to wear(which makes balance and stability harder) and they have to fight harder to keep warm. Our kids love the outdoors though, and no matter how short a time you have them out there, they're happy. JD did great with keeping the kids busy with snowballs, air swinging, etc. In the end, though I myself prefer to stay indoors when it's snowing, was glad I took them out.

Kids' Dress-Up

One of the many times the kids played dress-up in the afternoon and I caught a few shots of them in action.

Activity night

We had a fun evening with each person having to come up with a game for everyone to play. Some of them were hilarious to watch and participate in! I'm pretty sure most you people are familiar with some of these games:
Musical Chair Pile-up

Towel Relay Race

Balancing the Orange

The Swinging Ball

New Year's Eve

We had a nice candlelight service with everyone (including a song that wrapped up the year's events) along with snacks, drinks and lots of hugs! We watched the ball drop and then enjoyed the rest of the evening with happy all! Here are some candid shots of the evening:

New Year's Day!

Well, here it is, a new year! Today was a fun relaxing sort of day. Spent the day with the boys, took them and Tracy's 3 younger kids out to a nearby park which they loved. They hardly ever get out so even just driving in the car is an adventure for them. James and Faith's guys came over, had a good game of football, but when you are playing 3 on 3 it is just unfair to have Tracy on any team. Anyhow, here are a few pics from the day. As always, Prom did the photography, she somehow manages to get the best shots when I can't even figure out how to get it to shoot with out blurring the whole thing.

A New Year's Prayer

"Dear Master for this coming year
Just one request I bring:
I do not pray for happiness,
Or any earthly thing--
I do not ask to understand
The way Thou leadest me,
But this I ask: Teach me to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.
I want to know Thy guiding voice,
To walk with Thee each day.
Dear Master make me swift to hear
And ready to obey.
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be--
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee."

Happy New Year 2007

Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you the best in the months ahead and.......
We Love You!
